Why MCR?
We've raced at Le Mans.
We've raced Moroso. We've gotten some of the biggest names in the
history of racing to the finish line first and we can do the same
for you. Ultimately our goal is to provide our clients with the
best car on the track, whether they are an experienced shoe or a
newcomer to the racing scene.
How do we do this? It's all about
preparation. At MCR, we are extremely detailed about the maintenance
and preparation of our racecars. Racing is serious business and
the smallest mistake in the shop can cause major problems on the
racetrack.
We are proud that our
drivers have peace of mind from the moment they climb into the car
for their first practice session until they take the checkered flag.
They trust they are driving a safe, well-prepared racecar focus
on winning.
Services
If it has four wheels and it doesn't have the word "stock"
attached to it, there is a good chance we have worked on it. Our
staff has an amazing 120 years of overall experience in racing,
and can provide you the security and preparation you need to perform
well on the track.
MCR's race shop is located in a 8,000
square foot facility in Jupiter, Florida, which puts us in close
proximity to tracks like Moroso, Daytona, Sebring and Miami-Homestead.
We have all the necessary equipment to provide a high-level of service
both on and off the track.
We provide complete racing
preparation services; here are just a few we offer:
-
In-Shop Race Prep - At MCR, we provide everything you
need to run a safe, reliable and, most importantly, fast racecar.
From complete rebuild to chassis set-up, MCR will get your car
ready for the track. Our years of experience on nearly every
North American circuit means we have the expertise to set up
your car properly; from Road Atlanta to Road America, we can
make your car a contender.
-
Race Weekend Services - You need to stay focused on
the race; let us worry about the car. MCR offers complete race
support, and has equipment for any type of race. We can transport
your car to and from events and have everything needed to work
on the car at the track
-
Research & Development - Sure, you might have the
same equipment as the next guy, but that doesn't mean you can't
go faster. Over the years, we have assisted factory race teams
to make their racecars factors through one simple ingredient:
ingenuity. We specialize in making race cars faster and can
give you that competitive edge
-
Fabrication - In the racing scene, especially the vintage
racing scene, availability of parts isn't always as great as
one would expect. It is important that your team can provide
you with a working car, even if a part needs to be recreated
on short notice. MCR is equipped with complete fabrication facilities
from lathes to welders and will make sure your car is always
on the track
-
Paint & Body - Okay, let's face it, every driver
has a mistake. You'll see the drivers we have worked with in
our Why MCR section. Trust us, we have had to perform
Paint & Body work on nearly all of them. The important thing
is that the job is done right, as the smallest inconsistency
can offset the aerodynamics of the race car and ruin your chances
of victory. Outfitted with a paint booth, MCR can take care
of your fiberglass and painting needs.

on the original design. If you are racing in historic events,

Accolades
Excellence Magazine
Heralded as "the legendary crew chief" by Excellence
(The Magazine about Porsche), Michael Colucci attracts top endurance
customers as well as high profile vintage customers.
The following is a brief excerpt from the article, "Resurrection
at Sebring" by David Colman which was featured in the June,
1996 issue of Excellence. The article recounts MCR's involvement
in Champion Porsche's unbelievable win at Sebring in 1996 in the
Porsche 911 Evolution Turbo at the hands of Hans Stuck and Bill
Adam. Adam had flipped the car in traffic at Daytona only a month
prior, with MCR having to rebuild the car just in time for Sebring.
"...At the beginning of the 1995 season, Dave Maraj, owner
of Champion, resolved to succeed in racing the way he had succeeded
in Porsche sales - by hiring the best talent he could find. As Champion's
racing manager, Don Skuta, puts it, "We decided to take our
program to the next level." In Porsche distance racing, that
meant retaining the services of Mike Colucci, the legendary crew
chief who began his career in 1973 with Peter Gregg's Brumos Team,
and subsequently worked for Ted Field's Interscope Racing, Preston
Henn's T-bird SwapShop, and Jim Busby's BF Goodrich entourage...."
In the end, the car MCR rebuilt and improved within a month's time
won the race, and gave Champion Porsche its first major endurance
victory.
